ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, or DSL for short) or Broadband is a high-speed Internet access service that utilizes existing copper telephones lines to send and receive data at speeds that far exceed conventional dial-up modems.

VoIPflex in conjunction with its market leading partners Entanet Ltd, can now offer you ADSL broadband connections of up to 8Mbps and 24Mbps with ADSL2+ services where available.

Entanet is a leading UK Business ISP with an emphasis on wholesaling broadband and DSL connectivity through a network of Partners such as VoIPflex. Providing high speed Internet connections that are "always on", 24 hours, giving you permanent connections with bandwidth to suit your needs, at a fixed monthly fee.

Our new broadband portfolio clearly distinguishes between business and residential packages. The ‘Business’ packages meet specific business requirements such as traffic prioritisation during the working week and higher allowance options than our ‘Family’ packages. Our Family packages meanwhile are competitive in the residential broadband market, with prices from £13.95/month and monthly allowances ranging from 1GB to 120GB.

The new portfolio also unifies the features and pricing of ADSL and ADSL2+. You now pay the same price whether you opt for an up to 8Mbps* ADSL service or an ADSL2+ service which provides greater stability and potentially faster speeds*. ADSL2+ services are only available on exchanges enabled to support 21CN data services. As the roll out of 21CN continues, ADSL2+ services will become available to an increasing number of customers. Where available, the choice of ADSL2+ is made at the point of ordering.

In addition to rate adaptive ADSL and ADSL2+ connections you are also able to choose a fixed rate connection. The fixed rate connections are available in a choice of three speeds: 512Kbps, 1Mbps and 2Mbps. Please note these connections no longer have unlimited bandwidth usage and now operate within the same allowance limits as the rate adaptive ADSL and ADSL2+ connections.

*The actual speed achieved is dependent upon the quality of the line and distance from the exchange.

Business Packages

Business packages are available in a choice of 5 monthly allowance options ranging from 15GB to 180GB. The monthly allowance is used between 08:00hrs and 20:00hrs Monday to Friday. During these times Business packages will benefit from traffic prioritisation in the event that Entanet’s Anti-Loss Tool (ALT) is implemented to manage bandwidth availability during times of contention. Outside of the allowance times usage is uncharged** but will again be regulated by the ALT. The ALT will operate to optimise bandwidth availability for the majority of users. For more information on how the ALT will be applied see the ‘Traffic Management’ section.

All Business packages will include either Elevated Best Efforts (EBE) where possible, or provide an increased upload speed of up to 832Kbps through the use of MAX Premium circuits. Elevated Best Efforts guarantees minimum throughput of 3Mbps over the BT network subject to line sync rate. Standard Best Efforts guarantees minimum throughput of 2Mbps. These minimum levels of service are guaranteed for 90% of the time over the busiest 3 hour period.

Additional bandwidth can be purchased in the form of pre-pay top-ups or on a per 1GB post-pay basis. The default method is by top-ups. For more information on bandwidth overusage payment options see the ‘Overusage’ section.

Family Packages

Our Family packages provide monthly allowances ranging from 1GB to 120GB which are used between 08:00hrs and 00:00hrs Monday to Friday. Outside of these times usage is uncharged** but will again be regulated by the ALT. Priority will be given to Family packages between 20:00hrs and 00:00hrs Monday to Friday in the event that Entanet’s Anti-Loss Tool (ALT) is implemented to manage bandwidth availability during times of contention. This is because during this period of time Business packages are outside of their allowance hours while Family packages are within their allowance period. The ALT will operate to optimise bandwidth availability for the majority of users. For more information on how the ALT will be applied see the ‘Traffic Management’ section.

Additional bandwidth can be purchased in the form of pre-pay top-ups or on a per 1GB post-pay basis. For more information on overusage payment options see the ‘Overusage’ section.

Bandwidth Overusage

At the point of ordering you will be asked to choose you preferred method of payment for bandwidth overusage. The default option will be to purchase additional bandwidth in the form of pre-pay top-ups. The top-ups do not expire and are only lost if you cease the connection or move to an alternative provider.

Alternatively, you can choose to pay for overusage on a per 1GB post-pay basis. If this option is selected you will pay a set fee per additional 1GB used and will be required to set an upper limit to control spending. As this limit is reached you will be notified by email.
